Cultivated Brilliance — CMI Living Library

Your voice is the inheritance.

The Living Library is built on the lived experience of leaders and practitioners who shaped their fields. Your perspective — where you came from, what you carry, where you see it going — is exactly what the next generation needs.

What This Is

The Living Library is a growing archive of perspective and lived experience from working practitioners across every field. Three segments. Fifteen minutes. Your story of entry, your read on the present, and your vision of what young people are walking toward.

Your Recording Structure

Three segments. ~5 minutes each.

Segment 01 Origin ~ 5 minutes

Your Prompt

"How did you end up in your field? What drew you in, what surprised you once you were inside, and what do you wish someone had told you before you started?"

Your personal story of entry is the anchor. We will layer the broader history of the field separately — your job here is your own truth about how you arrived and what you found.

Segment 02 Practice ~ 5 minutes

Your Prompt

"If you are being completely honest, what is actually happening in your field right now? What is working, what is not, and what are people not saying out loud that probably should be said?"

No press release version. Your present-tense, ground-level perspective. Young people learn more from someone inside the work than from anyone watching from a distance.

Segment 03 Horizon ~ 5 minutes

Your Prompt

"A young person is watching this and thinking about whether to enter your field, build something adjacent to it, or go in a completely different direction. What do you actually think they are walking toward in 10 years? And what would you tell them to do with that information?"

Not a researched forecast — your perspective as someone who has lived inside the field. Whether you see obsolescence, transformation, or opportunity, say what you genuinely believe.
